When shipping to and from Canada, your paperwork for customs clearance becomes an important factor. Delays with paperwork can hold up a shipment at the border. To eliminate such delays so that your product moves as expeditiously as possible across the border, follow these two simple steps.

1. Once you place your pick up with Ward, please fax copies of your shipment's documentation to our Canadian processing center at 716-874-4591. This will ensure your documents receive pre-clearance so that once the shipment arrives at the border, both move flawlessly through customs.


2. Be sure to give your Ward driver the proper documentation at the time of pick up. Canadian paperwork required for customs clearance includes such items as:
   • Canadian Customs Invoice
   • Certificate of Origin
   • Original Bill of Lading (Ward Pro Number)
   • Customs Invoice / Straight Bill of Lading
   • Commercial Invoice
   • Shippers Export Declaration
